The Parental Discard Research Series follows the evidence from a single campus ecosystem to over one million people operating on identical material written by A cocktail of anonymous individuals with no credentials.
The Timeline
In 2004, a 19-year-old launched a social network from his Harvard dorm room. One year later, the same Harvard ecosystem funded eight startups. College kids. No vetting. Two of those kids built the platform your adult child is on right now. They were 21 and 22 years old.
The platform was sold in 2006. Both founders left by 2009. A community manager making $14 an hour was the most senior person running it. In 2008, anyone could createan anonymous community on it.
No credentials required. No monitoring. No accountability.
A community launched on that platform.
Anonymous. Unmonitored. The Population Targeted: Kids, born 1985-2004.
One anonymous individual took full control.
1+ Million Members in 2026. Still running.
The 1985 to 2004 birth cohort walked into this community as teenagers. They entered
with common adolescent complaints.
Curfews.
House rules.
Chores.
The things every teenager pushes against. Their brains were still developing. The part that seeks reward and validation was fully active. The part responsible for long-term decision-making was years from completion.
The community gave them a label for their parent and a direction: Out.
The reinforcement locked them in. They never left.
The defining material used by over one million people was not written by a
professional. It targets mothers exclusively. It is not science. It does not describe a
recognized disorder. It has been there since the community’s first weeks.
It is still there.
They may not know any of this.
This is not because of how you raised your child.
This is a system.
Built, installed, enforced, and running for over 13+ years.
For every one of those million-plus members, at least 2 direct family members are
impacted. That is millions of people with no name for what is happening, no tools,
and no explanation.

An understanding and knowledge of the key differences, frameworks, neurology and systems that are responsible for the current phenomenon of Parental Discard.
Naming what families are enduring, as Parental Discard is the first step in DELEGITIMIZING the current and acceptable monetization methods of the status quo community.
Rejecting the wrongly termed, culturally self labeled as “estrangement” criteria and self correcting based on individual experiences.
Why engaging the estrangement communities is self destructive, not just individually, but globally.

If change is to be made, it begins with one family recognizing their experience aligns with Parental Discard. If so, using the term, sharing the term, and your experience by correctly identifying the outcome as something that was done purposely to the family structure.
For every person who uses this term, develop the understanding as rooted in Science. Not ideologies, hype, religion, politics, emotions, anger, blame, clicks or outrage, but as fact based and merits scientific inquiry and further replication studies.

Recognizing, with compassion, that your situation is not unique millions of other families are living the same stories. The hostility of the birth cohort, is real to them, the replies, attacks, defense and the language itself, are the result of the technology whose goal was to “worm their way down the brainstem”. We are witnessing in real time the behavioral conditioning, confirming the theory of Parental Discard. The cohort may not recognize it with their actions of the family. Although, they may eventually recognize developmentally, cognitively, emotionally and social delays or difficulties. Current RESERACH has already confirmed delayed adulthood, arrested development and “failure to adult” in many other etiologies, not just familial with this age cohort.
